As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on all the hard work and achievements of December.
However you are spending the next few weeks, we hope that everyone can take the opportunity to recharge the batteries and enjoy some fun. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Christmas Party Nights at LSV
A record-breaking Christmas at LSV! We have a couple more party nights to run before the Christmas break, however November and December will have seen over 1,700 guests attend our fantastic party nights. Our Banqueting Suite was turned into a festive and traditional red and white Christmas landscape via the Tinsel Town Way, whilst our Legends Suite turned into a festive Boogie Wonderland. We have received some fantastic feedback from our customers, and the team have worked extremely hard on these events over the last few months. Thank you and well done to everyone involved on making Christmas a huge success for yet another year!
Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children
Well done to everyone who took part in our final charity event for 2024, Save the Children’s Christmas jumper day on Thursday 12th December. It was so lovely to see so many of our teams come together and raise money for such an important cause. We look forward to raising even more funds for charities in 2025!
Staff Christmas Lunch
It was so lovely to celebrate the festive period with our annual Staff Christmas Lunch event. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to celebrate with colleagues and exchange your secret Santa gifts in the process. Thank you to our Commercial Sales Director, Sam for organising this event for us, with a special thanks to our General Catering Manager, Gareth for his quiz which kept us all entertained for the afternoon.
Elvis the Elf and his journey across LSV
We have had a special little visitor to LSV in December straight from the North Pole. Elvis the Elf has been helping across the different departments to make Christmas 2024 the best and has been documenting his journey on our social media stories. We hope you have enjoyed watching his progress!

2024 has been a fantastic year for Leigh Sports Village with lots to be proud and excited about. From celebrating the 1st birthday of the Hide Coffee House and Leigh Youth Hub, to the Stadium Experience Awards and even developing our new website. Leigh Youth Hub and Leigh Sports Village Arena have also been reflecting on their year in the form of their ’12 days of Christmas’ social media campaigns, a lovely light-hearted way to reflect on their successes in 2024. If you haven’t already seen, take a look at their social media platforms!
Our 80’s Disco Night Returns!
On Saturday 1st February our 80’s Disco night will return to LSV. 2024’s event was such a huge success with over 200 people attending the event, so this year its back better than ever! Guests can enjoy an arrival drink, themed event room and table for the evening, two course 80’s menu, DJ entertainment and a photobooth to capture all of the amazing memories of the night. We are also including a prize for the best dressed guest! All this for only £27.95pp, which is great value for money for our customers.
We wish our Sales and Catering teams the best of luck with organising and delivering this event in Feb, it will be amazing.
Leigh Youth Hub’s Family Christmas Party
Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help the Youth Hub’s Family Christmas Meal on 10th December. This event aimed to provide as many opportunities as possible to young people who may not otherwise get to experience a traditional Christmas. Local deserving families enjoyed a three-course festive meal, entertainment, dancing and of course, presents from Santa. The generosity meant so much to these families as the smiles on their faces in the grotto did say it all. It was lovely for representatives of the Leigh Past Players Association to be able to witness such positive outcomes from their generous funding and support. Overall, the event was a huge success, and everyone should be so proud of themselves for what was achieved. We can’t wait to hold another event just like this again next year.

Greater Manchester Cross Country Championship
Pennington Flash were the proud co-hosts of the Greater Manchester Cross Country Championship on Saturday 14th December, which was an amazing event to be a part of. Well done to everyone involved who ensured the safe and smooth running of this event.
Team Training
Our team at Pennington Flash are now successfully qualified to use brush cutters, this is important for our team as it will allow them to vastly improve the maintenance standards of the wildlife habitats on site. Well done to everyone who undertook this training.
