Leigh Leopard’s ‘Heart of a Leopard’ Programme
The Leigh Leopard’s Foundation ‘Heart of Leopard’ Programme is designed for men aged 45-65 years who are ready to make positive changes. They create a non-judgemental environment in which participants will engage in fitness activities, learn about heart health and have fun! This is aimed around inspiring healthier and more active lifestyles and this session takes place every Tuesday 7am-8:30am in a 12-week programme at LSV. Activities so far have included circuits in our concourse and throughout our stadium bowl!
Samoa’s International Rugby League Team Train at LSV
England faced Samoa in the Rugby League International two-match test series in October and November, with the matches being held at Wigan’s Brick Community Stadium and Leeds’ AMT Headingley Stadium. This event saw international stars such as Jarome Luai playing alongside Leigh Leopards 23/24 Captain John Asiata and teammate, Ricky Lutele against the very best in the world. We were so proud to host the official training sessions for the Samoa National teams’ at LSV for this international sporting event, as pictured above.
Manchester United Foundation’s Winter Coat Appeal at Leigh Sports Village
On Sunday 3rd November during the Manchester United Women VS Arsenal Women’s match, the Manchester United Foundation collected donations for their winter coat appeal at LSV, as well as Old Trafford. It was so lovely to see so many donations made, and the generosity of the fans will make such a difference to those in need this winter, so thank you to everyone who embraced and supported this important initiative. With the initiative in place across the two fixtures, Manchester United Foundation collected over 1,800 coats which will be donated to their partner schools with the remaining coats going to local poverty groups in and around Greater Manchester.
Recruitment Event with Ingeus
On Tuesday 5th November Samantha, our Commercial Sales Director and Megan our Marketing and Social Media Manager represented LSV at the Ingeus Recruitment Fair in our Banqueting Suite. Adam Lasania, the event organiser said, “I would like to extend our sincere thanks for your participation in our Job Fair at Leigh Sports Village yesterday. Your presence and engagement made a significant impact, and we are grateful for your contributions in helping to make the event a success.
Your support was instrumental in creating a vibrant and productive atmosphere, allowing attendees to connect, network, and explore valuable career opportunities. We have received positive feedback from both job seekers and other exhibitors, and your involvement played a key role in making this event memorable.
We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate and continue building on the success of this event. Together, we can make an even greater impact in connecting talent with opportunity and strengthening our professional community.”
BBC’s Children In Need 2024
Leigh Sports Village would like to thank all of our staff who supported and donated to the BBC Children in Need Day on Friday 15th November which was kindly hosted at Leigh Youth Hub. Annmarie our Financial Director was the super champion of the day, winning the greatest number of points in sweet pong and guessing the correct number of sweets in the jar, well done Annmarie! Hopefully we can raise even more funds with our next charity fundraiser in December.
CHS IVR Roadshow
Samantha O’Shaughnessy, our Commercial Sales Director, had a successful day attending the CHS IVR Roadshow on behalf of Stadium Experience on Monday 18th November. It was held at the stunning Cedar Court Hotels, Yorkshire. It was a great opportunity to connect with buyers and share insights as well as get involved in team building and networking activities with fellow exhibitors. We look forward to receiving some new enquiries and key wins, as it was a productive day.
Sam & Annmarie Attend the Wigan and Leigh Hospice Ball
On Saturday 23rd November, Sam and Annmarie attended the annual Wigan and Leigh Hospice Ball at the Edge, Wigan. An amazing £42,000 was raised on the night in aid of this amazing local charity. Thank you both for representing Leigh Sports Village!
Christmas Parties at Leigh Sports Village
Today marks the start of our Christmas party nights which will continue every weekend throughout December. Our Banqueting Suite has been transformed into the ‘Tinsel Town Way’ which is full of traditional Christmas reds, greens and whites. Our Legends Suite has been transformed into ‘Boogie Wonderland’ where Christmas magic meets the iconic 80’s era. The Sales and Catering teams have worked incredibly hard across the year to make these events a success, so thank you to everyone involved and we wish you the best of luck across the festive period!
We have also launched our festive lunch offering in our executive pitch side boxes for the first time, perfect for small and intimate Christmas celebrations.
Leigh Youth Hub Celebrate Youth Work Week
Youth Work week took place between 4-10th November and Leigh Youth Hub celebrated this in style, raising awareness around the impact and importance of youth work. With this years’ theme being, “A right to youth work for all- delivering positive futures for young people” it allowed Leigh Youth Hub to reflect on how accessible youth led spaces are and the significance of including young people to allow them to shape their own futures. leigh Youth Hub’s D of E Bronze Awards Night
Thursday 19th November saw the Leigh Youth Hub’s Duke of Edinburgh Awards take place in our Legends Suite, celebrating the huge achievements of 22 young people. It was great to be able to have our very own Tom Concannon perform with his band member, Jake (from the Stanley’s) and for Madam Mayor to be a part of the celebration too. Thank you to our Senior Youth and Community Worker, Karen, for your hard work, dedication and commitment into providing this opportunity for young people to do this award and thank you to Hannah, Suzanne and Andy for your support in making Karen’s vision a reality. Leigh Youth Hub Toy Appeal
Leigh Youth Hub need your help! The team at the hub have launched their ‘Christmas Toy Appeal’ so are looking for donations towards their family Christmas meal, which will take place at Leigh Sports Village this December. This ensures local families get the Christmas celebration which everyone deserves, who would not otherwise get the opportunity to, without this event. The team are working very hard behind the scenes to pull this event together and require your gift donations to make it happen. Whether it be a colouring book, lynx set, or a small toy, all donations for young people are accepted and do go a long way. If you would like to provide a gift donation, this can be dropped off at Leigh Youth Hub anytime between now and December. You can read more here:

Chris MD and Angry Ginge Visit LSV Arena
Following last month’s visit to the Arena by Mark Howard and Angry Ginge, we had another visit by the Internet celebrity, Chris MD who has over 6 million subscribers on YouTube! Chris also filmed an episode with Angry Ginge so keep your eyes peeled for the episode when it is released on his channel!

Please note the Hide Coffee House’s Christmas opening hours below, which differ to the normal opening times. The Hide have some very exciting specials on to compliment their Christmas menu throughout December (specials yet to be revealed, keep your eye out on our socials!)
