As we welcomed in the New Year, our wish was for all our staff, customers, suppliers, and visitors to experience a year filled with joy, success, and new opportunities. We’re thrilled to share that January has started on a high note, filled with achievements and milestones that we are excited to highlight below.
Leigh Leisure Centre’s Makeover:
The Leigh Leisure Centre gym has recently undergone a makeover! To add to the new-look, the opening hours have been extended, so you can now enjoy these facilities from 6am Monday- Friday. As a Be Well member, you can take advantage of unlimited use of the gym, pool, group classes and sports sessions across all 7 local centres.

A Very Snowy January at LSV:
The start of January saw some bitterly cold weather hit the Sports Village, with lows of -5c and multiple snow days. Well done to everyone for persevering with the challenging weather and traffic conditions! Our Sports Village was transformed into a beautiful winter snow scene.
The First Ever Kid’s Football tournament:
On the 29th of December, LSV Arena proudly hosted their FIRST EVER Kids football tournament.
The event featured two different age groups: U8’s and U10’s, with over 14 different teams representing various football clubs within our borough, with more than 120 young footballers participating in our tournament festival overall. It was an enjoyable day for everyone involved from the participants, coaches, parents and of course for our staff members who helped on the day! There was lots of positive feedback from all involved and the team can’t wait to host the next one.
Our Family Fun Day Returns:
Leigh Youth Hub is thrilled to announce the 2025 Family Fun Day! Join them on Saturday, February 15th, from 11am to 3pm for a day packed with excitement and activities celebrating our vibrant community hub.
This year’s event promises a variety of engaging experiences for all ages. From creative workshops and gym sessions to educational building tours, there’s something for everyone. Take part in mini challenges throughout the day, including the popular pool challenge! Explore all our rooms and enjoy outdoor activities like axe throwing and the climbing wall.
If you haven’t yet experienced the full range of what Leigh Youth Hub has to offer, this is the perfect opportunity. Our friendly youth workers will be available to answer any questions you may have. Please note any young people aged 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
